the waterfront

Our cabins are clean and comfortable. Recently renovated with new ensuite bathrooms but retaining the feel of the traditional Straddie beach shacks. Cabins are individually themed with shells, fish, beach, boats, crabs and have a unique theme to each.

After all the day’s activities relax with a sundowner at the Sea Shanties waterfront. The golden ball of the sun dips below the horizon and the lights of Brisbane twinkle in the distance. The smell of giant Aussie steaks and sausages sizzling on the wood fired BBQ…aah.

ABSOLUTE WATERFRONT

Dolphins patrol the waters off Amity Point. The light on our jetty allows guests to see these fabulous animals close at hand as well as schools of fish, squid, turtles and lion fish,. If you watch closely you can also see our resident wobbegongs (including a rare albino wobbegong) as they glide along cleverly disguised beside our rock wall.

Fish from the beaches, fish from your boat or fish from the jetties at Amity and Dunwich. Fishing charters are easily organised with professional fishermen on the island.

The University of Queensland have identified over 100 different species of fish which may be seen along our waterfront rocks and developing reef. Snorkels, fins, masks and wetsuits are available for hire.
